Police announce more sobriety checkpoints in Northeast Ohio

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio (WJW) – More sobriety checkpoints are scheduled this week in Northeast Ohio.

The Strongsville Police Department, in partnership with the Cuyahoga County OVI Task Force, plans to conduct an OVI checkpoint May 21 in the city of Strongsville.

Police said officers at the checkpoint will stop vehicles to identify drivers who may be operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

“The safety of everyone on our roadways is our top priority,” Strongsville Police Chief Tom O’Deens said in a statement. “We want to send a clear message: if you choose to drive impaired, you put yourself and others at risk.”
