Bacteria advisories issued for some beaches along Lake Erie

(WKBN) – If your Memorial Day plans are taking you to the shores of Lake Erie, there are a couple of beaches along the North Coast that have bacteria advisories.

Conneaut Sandbar Beach in Conneaut and Villa Angela State Park in Cuyahoga County have bacteria advisories for the beaches, according to the Ohio Department of Health. Those are the two closest Lake Erie beaches to the Valley with advisories.

Other Lake Erie beaches with bacteria advisories are:

  • Beulah Beach, Erie County
  • Lake Front Park, Erie County
  • Pipe Creek Wildlife Area, Erie County
  • Bay View West, Erie County

Bacteria advisories mean the level of bad bacteria in the water has reached unsafe levels and could make you sick. Children, the elderly and those in ill health or weakened immune systems are advised not to swim…
