TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Events on Monday across the Capital Region honored veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice. At a Memorial Day Ceremony in Halfmoon, there was a moment of silence observed, and people spoke about the veterans lost.
Veteran David Blazejeski said the day is about remembering old friends, and being in the VFW has helped him find a sense of community.
“It’s nice to remember all the folks that didn’t make it home and the people that are serving today,” said Blazejeski. “Everybody knows what we all went through and we all appreciate each other.”
