NISKAYUNA, N.Y. (NEWS10)– On Thursday, a Niskayuna man was arrested on drug possession charges, three months after Colonie Police found large amounts of narcotics in a crashed, abandoned car. According to Colonie Police, 44-year-old Jason Biittig is facing multiple charges.

Police said their investigation began in April, after officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a Nissan, driven by Biittig, and were led on a high-speed chase through Colonie and on I-87. According to the department, after officers terminated the pursuit, the car was found crashed and abandoned in a backyard of a Colonie home.
A subsequent search of the car revealed a large amount of cocaine and other controlled susbtances but no driver.
Through the investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant and on Thursday, while looking for him, investigators saw him entering a Niskayuna home. Police said a search warrant was then issued for the residence and he was taken into custody without incident.

- Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer
- Muliple vehicle and traffic law violations
According to the Colonie Police Department, Biittig was arraigned in Colonie Town Court. He was later remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility…
