Altamont accomplished much in the first decade since the comprehensive plan

I appreciate Sean Mulkerrin’s May 4 article about the village of Altamont’s efforts to update its comprehensive plan [“Altamont tries again to update its comprehensive plan,” The Altamont Enterprise, May 4, 2026].

I am hopeful that the village will find the funds to seek a consultant to help with the effort, as the article noted and as the town of Guilderland did in the two-year update of its plan

In recent years, as Mayor Kerry Dineen pointed out in your article, the village has turned its efforts to infrastructure needs like sidewalks, upgrading and maintaining its parks, its water plant, sewer infrastructure, and streetlight upgrades, while always mindful of its efficient use of the limited funds available to the village to conduct its business, which are also reflective in the comprehensive plan…
