New Expanded Food Truck Hours in Albany

Big news if you are a fan of the local food truck scene in Albany, or if you operate a food truck in the city. Some new legislation that was just signed will allow us to enjoy these unique products and foods even more!

Albany Mayor Dorcey Applyrs announded on Thursday that her and council members have worked together as part her plan to “turn the lights back on” in Albany plan. She has been very vocal about making things more available in the City and she’s taking a big step here in allowing expanded hours for food trucks.

More food trucks mean more foot traffic, more active streets, stronger commercial corridors, and more energy in the places where people live, work, visit, and invest.

The new expanded hours would be between 7am and 2am.I would assume that is for all 7 days of the week, but I could be wrong. Previously, according to the City of Albany document I found, street vendors, that would include food trucks, were prohibited from selling on the streets between 9pm and 9am.

I can tell you that I have been out late in Albany and a food truck would really come in handy in some of those places. There are some amazing food trucks around the city, and those that are outside of the city and want to come in will now have a larger opportunity to grow some business…
