Hooters Bids Farewell To Albany After Over A Decade On Wolf Road

Hooters sports bar and restaurant, famous for waitresses wearing skimpy orange and white uniforms, has closed the doors to the store located at 70 Wolf Road in Albany, New York. This leaves the chicken wing joint without a New York location.

The once controversial, double entendre, restaurant chain opened more than 40 years ago. As of 2013 there were 430 locations world wide but in 2024 the brand closed nearly 40 underperforming locations. Just a few months ago Hooters still had New York locations in Albany, Farmingdale and Fresh Meadows. As of today all 3 are closed.

On Thursday June 25th customers arriving at the Wolf Road location were greeted by a sign on the front door reading:

After much deliberation, we’ve made the difficult decision to close this location. We are incredibly grateful for the many years of great times, cold beer, hot wings, and unforgettable memories shared here. Thank you to our guests, team members, and community for the support over the years. – Hooters, Albany
