ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The 48th Delightful Run for Women presented by Sara Lee took over Albany on Saturday morning, with thousands of women hitting the pavement along Washington Avenue and through Washington Park for the annual 5k.

From elite athletes to first-time participants, nearly 3,000 women tied up their laces for the Delightful Run for Women. Katie Izzo of Flagstaff, Arizona, took home the win in her first-ever visit to Albany.
“What I’ll remember today is just how wholesome it is. And, you know, women are so strong, and I am just inspired by all those ladies out there,” said Izzo.
Stephanie Bruce placed right behind Izzo. At 42 years old, the mother of three said that she wanted to prove that age doesn’t have to slow you down.
