Emergency demolition planned after Sunday morning fire in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, NY (WRGB) — A Campbell Avenue house will have to be demolished after a fire Sunday morning.

The Schenectady Fire Department’s 4th Platoon shift was called for a reported house on fire at 10:39am. When they arrived, firefighters found the second-floor porch of 2334 Campbell to be fully involved, with fire spreading into the second-floor apartment and attic. The fire had also extended to both 2332 Campbell Ave. and 2338 Campbell Ave. The residents had evacuated before firefighters arrived.

Crews were able to extinguish the main fire and stop the fire that had spread to the two neighboring buildings in roughly 30 minutes. They also rescued three dogs from the second-floor apartment at 2332 Campbell Ave…
