Worker injured at CSX Selkirk rail yard

BETHLEHEM — A worker at the CSX rail yard in Selkirk was injured May 24 in an incident railroad union officials claims is the result of the railroad rushing workers through training.

CSX confirmed the incident but would not reveal details of what happened or the name of the employee. The Selkirk rail yard is among the busiest rail hubs for the company by volume and is where it off-loads new cars and trucks en route to dealerships in New York and New England.

“A CSX employee sustained non-life-threatening injuries inside of the Selkirk yard,” CSX spokesman Austin Staton said. “The employee was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment.”…
