COHOES — City administrators are pushing to get drinking water operations in compliance with disinfection standards in response to a new violation notice.
The state Department of Health has cited Cohoes for failing to properly treat the water supply, sourced from the Mohawk River, with chlorine, a microbe killer. The chemical requires greater mixing with water — more than currently provided by the city — to meet regulations.
