New fines, limits on bulk garbage imposed in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY  — Residents who don’t adhere to the city’s bulk garbage rules will now face new fines.

The Schenectady City Council unanimously approved the changes to the city’s bulk garbage collection system on Monday, retiring the failed bulk sticker program.

The resolution approved by the council also limits the number of bulk items residents can put out for collection and creates a solid waste collection fund within the city’s 2027 operating budget…
