Road closures announced for Capital Pride Parade and Festival

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Capital Pride Parade and Festival returns to Albany on June 14. Albany Police announced upcoming road closures and parking restrictions that will be in place on Sunday.

The 2026 event celebrating the local LGBTQ community kicks off at 11:30 a.m. with its annual parade that will start on State Street, carry onto Lark Street, and will conclude on Madison Avenue. Held at Washington Park in Albany, Sunday’s festival is slated to run until 5 p.m.

Capital Pride 2026 closures and restrictions

Road closures

  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — parade
    • All roadways in Washington Park
    • State Street from Robin Street and Englewood Place to Lark Street
    • Lark Street from Washington Avenue to Madison Avenue
    • Madison Avenue from Lark Street to New Scotland Avenue
  • 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. — parade and festival
    • All roadways in Washington Park west of Henry Johnson Boulevard

Parking restrictions

  • 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • Both sides of State Street from Western Avenue to Englewood Place
    • Both sides of State Street from Robin Street to Lark Street
    • Both sides of Sprague Place from Western Avenue to State Street
    • Both sides of Henry Johnson Boulevard from Spring Street to State Street
    • Both sides of Willett Street from State Street – three spaces on each side
    • Both sides of Lark Street from State Street to Madison Avenue
    • Both sides of Madison Avenue from Lark Street to New Scotland Avenue
  • 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Both sides of Washington Park Road (Lancaster Street Extension) from Henry Johnson Boulevard to State Street and Robin Street
    • Both sides of Washington Park Road from Henry Johnson Boulevard to Sprague Place
    • Both sides of Washington Park Road from Henry Johnson Boulevard to New Scotland Avenue
    • West side of Henry Johnson Boulevard from State Street to Madison Avenue
