Leaking gas main turned off in Schenectady; residents return home

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A gas main in the city of Schenectady was turned off on Monday. The fire chief said the main was leaking after it was struck.

The gas main is located in the area of Craig and Stanley Streets. National Grid responded, and several residents were evacuated from their homes.

CDTA provided a bus for shelter until it was safe for residents to return home.
