ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- A Delmar man gave his best friend a kidney, and both now say the transplant strengthened a friendship that goes back more than 30 years.
John Church of Delmar and Stephen Smith of East Greenbush met while working for the Matthew Bender Publishing Company in Menands. In 2008, Smith was diagnosed with kidney cancer and had his left kidney removed.
