An adult swimmer died after being pulled underwater by a strong current in the Hoosic River, police said on Sunday, June 28.
The incident happened near State Route 67 and Beck Road in Hoosick in Rensselaer County, where troopers were called for a report of a missing swimmer at about 7:02 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, New York State Police said.
