Schenectady County to host FIFA World Cup watch party

NISKAYUNA, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The 2026 FIFA World Cup is in full swing and Schenectady County is looking to get in on the action. The county will host a World Cup event and watch party on Tuesday in Niskayuna.

Slated to begin at 4 p.m., the community event will feature soccer skills and drills, food vendors, prizes and a live screening of the France vs. Sweden match at 5 p.m. The celebration comes thanks to a partnership between Schenectady County and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.

“There is something special about gathering as a community to watch one of the world’s biggest sporting events on a 20-foot screen, cheering alongside friends, neighbors, and families and sharing an experience that brings people together,” said Gary Hughes, chair of the Schenectady County Legislature.
