Hilltown residents need to speak up about the recent unannounced fee increase by Twin Bridges trash hauler, owned by Cassella. I was surprised to review my recent credit-card billing statement, indicating that Twin Bridges’ fee had increased.
Afterwards, I saw a brief story on a local TV news channel stating that Twin Bridges increased trash fees due to a “fuel surcharge.” Twin Bridges did not advise clients of the rate increase.
Last year, after Cassella bought Twin Bridges, there was an unannounced fee increase. I called Twin Bridges, and was told that Twin Bridges does not need to advise customers of a fee increase in advance, and that they could charge what they want, because they are the only trash hauler in the Hilltowns…
