DELMAR, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Bethlehem Police Department arrested two Selkirk men for allegedly pointing a weapon and threatening a group of kids in Delmar on July 20. Police said Jacob Bloom, 19, and Coleman Hughes, 19, are facing multiple charges.

Police responded to Stewart’s Shops in Delmar on Delaware Avenue on Monday for reports of two men who allegedly approached a group of kids sitting at a picnic table and pointed what appeared to be a handgun at them before making a threatening statement. The men, whom detectives later identified as Bloom and Hughes, fled in a white Honda Civic before authorities arrived.
Through an investigation, law enforcement collected the suspects’ and vehicle descriptions, including a partial license plate registration. Police added that surveillance cameras from neighboring businesses captured the vehicle entering Stewart’s parking lot, passing the kids, leaving, returning later, and stopping briefly near them before leaving westbound on Delaware Avenue.

Bethlehem Police detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for a home and associated vehicle during the investigation. Authorities said they found a Glock 19-style CO2-powered BB gun in the front passenger-side floorboard that was similar to the weapon during the incident.
Bloom and Hughes were released under the supervision of the Albany County Probation Department following their arraignment in Bethlehem Town Court. Both are scheduled to appear in court again on August 18 at 4 p.m…
