(BETHLEHEM, NY) — The police chief of a small Captial Region town is throwing her hat in the ring to replace a man she calls a friend and mentor. Bethlehem Police chief Gina Cocchiara has filed to run for Albany County Sheriff to replace Craig Apple, who announced last week he would not seek a fifth term in office.
Cocchiara said she did not have prior knowledge of Apple’s announcement, but said she had an idea it was coming.
