ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An Albany nonprofit has announced that it will be merging with another nonprofit based in Rensselaer County. The South End Children’s Cafe will merge with Unity House of Troy.

The South End Children’s Cafe is a nonprofit organization fighting for food security in Albany. Unity House of Troy is a leading human services nonprofit organization.
Nearly a decade ago, Tracie Killar started serving meals for about 15 children inside a small kitchen in a South End church. Today, the operation has expanded to its new location on Rensselaer Street in Albany and has served more than 300,000 meals through its programs.
After pressures grow on small nonprofits, both agencies deemed it beneficial to fuse the programming at the South End Children’s Cafe with the administrative structure of Unity House…
