Guilderland ZBA denies warehouse expansion

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Zoning Board of Appeals this month rejected an application for a proposed 22,000-square-foot warehouse at 310 Wayto Road, voting 3 to 2 against the project after neighbors spent nearly 90 minutes describing years of noise, vibration, and traffic they say have come with the site’s existing tenants.

The board’s chairwoman, Elizabeth Lott, and member Sharon Cupoli voted in favor of the special-use permit; members Richard Villa, James Zeno, and Nichole Ventresca-Cohen voted against the permit.

The split ended a yearlong effort by property owner SJM Realty and tenant Sandell Manufacturing to add the warehouse to an industrial parcel bordering the Nancy Lane residential neighborhood, on the town line with Rotterdam…
