ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — After Regal movie theaters in Tennessee saw success, select movie theaters in New York are honoring the passing of iconic American singer and songwriter Dolly Parton. Theaters in the Capital Region and Hudson Valley are planning showings of “Steel Magnolias” and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.”

- Regal Galleria Mall — Poughkeepsie
“Steel Magnolias” will be shown on September 4, 6, and 8, while “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” will be shown on September 5, 7, and 9. All of the showings benefit The Dollywood Foundation, which is home to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Also making a nod to Parton’s hit “9 to 5,” tickets are $9.25.
“As a company headquartered in East Tennessee, Dolly’s impact has always felt especially close to home for Regal,” Regal Senior Vice President of Marketing Vikki Neil said. “Now, as we expand these screenings nationwide, we’re excited to give audiences across the country a way to celebrate her legacy while supporting the Imagination Library.”
