ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An investigation is underway after a man was found dead in an alley in Albany Saturday night, according to police. No arrests have been reported as of Sunday morning.

Albany police officers were dispatched to a home on Elberon Place, near Quail Street, at about 9 p.m. following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, authorities searched the residence but were not able to locate any victims.
During a subsequent search of the surrounding area, officers reported finding a 26-year-old man in a nearby alleyway on Elberon Place. Police said the victim had died from gunshot injuries.

A preliminary investigation has determined that the 26-year-old was shot at the initial residence on Elberon Place, according to authorities. Police said the victim’s name is being withheld until proper notifications have been made.
