Rensselaer County introduces drug dealer registry

RENSSELAER, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Rensselaer County Legislature, in connection with the District Attorney’s Office, has announced the creation of the Rensselaer County Drug Dealer Registry. The registry is designed to ensure community safety and combat drug-related offenses.

According to Rensselaer County, the initiative will track individuals convicted of drug sale crimes within the county. The registry will be publicly accessible to ensure transparency and ensure community awareness.

Registration requirements include that those 16 or older must register within ten days of release from incarceration, and if they were not incarcerated, from the date of their conviction. Required information includes the name, aliases, and address.
