Albany man sentenced to prison for assault with wooden board

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– An Albany man was sentenced to prison on Thursday, after assaulting a teenager with a wooden board. According to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office, 24-year-old Emanuel Mackey-Bailey was ordered to serve 13 years and six months in prison.

The case against Mackey-Bailey began in September 2025, after he reportedly ran up behind a 17-year-old and swung a board at the side of his head. The teenager was knocked unconscious but Mackey-Bailey reportedly continued to hit the victim with the plank, as well as kicking and punching him.

He then allegedly stole the victim’s keys and cell phone. According to the DA’s Office, the incident was captured on city cameras.

In January, Mackey-Bailey pleaded guilty to first-degree assault…
