Police: 7-year-old hit by car in Albany

ALBANY — A child is recovering at Albany Medical Center after he was hit by a car on Friday night.

City police say the 7-year-old was hit around Quail and Elk streets around 7 p.m. as he was running across a crosswalk on Quail Street.

A preliminary investigation found that the driver of the car was traveling south on Quail Street and as they approached Elk Street, another vehicle traveling west on Elk Street stopped at the intersection of Elk and Quail, partially blocking the intersection, according to a news release from the Albany Police Department.
