Albany man arrested after troopers find loaded handgun

Halfmoon, NY (WRGB) — New York State Police arrested an Albany man after troopers investigating a reported argument in Halfmoon said they found him with a loaded handgun and an illegal high-capacity magazine while an order of protection barred him from possessing guns.

44-year-old James Warner of Albany, was arrested March 27, 2026, by State Police in Clifton Park.

Troopers responded at about 7:42 p.m. March 27 to the area of Pine Ridge II in Halfmoon for a report of a verbal argument. The investigation determined Warner was reported as a witness who had a verbal argument with an individual known to him. Warner left the location in a vehicle before law enforcement arrived, and troopers later stopped him on State Route 9 for a vehicle and traffic law violation…
