ALBANY — Ulster County Sheriff Juan Figueroa was recognized Friday at the 2026 SOMOS Convention in Albany for his contributions to the Latino community. SOMOS is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization focused on uniting the Latino community, promoting awareness and advocacy, and working with the New York State Assembly/Senate Puerto Rican & Hispanic Task Force. The group also supports the advancement of Latino youth through education, mentoring and scholarships, and seeks to improve the socioeconomic and civic status of Latinos across New York state.
