ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10)– A Schonowe Volunteer Firefighter and his neighbors were displaced after a fire broke out at their apartment building on Hamburg Street Sunday night. According to the American Red Cross, four adults and two teenagers were displaced.

The Schonowe Volunteer Fire Rescue Company descirbed the home as a total loss. When NEWS10 crews arrived on scene, they reported seeing a two-story building still on fire, with crews attacking the flames from multiple angles.
NEWS10 is working to learn more as to what caused the fire but rescue teams say they will be collecting donations for those impacted.
The Schonowe Volunteer company is looking for these items:
- Men’s size 34×34 pants
- Men’s extra large shirts
- Medium boxer briefs
- Socks
- Women’s size 18 jeans
- Extra large shirts
- Extra large leggings
- 42ddd bra
- Socks
- Size 10 underwear
- Size 7 shoes
- Men’s 3xl shirts
- Men’s 44×32 jeans
- 3xl boxers
- Socks
- Also type c cell phone chargers
- Personal hygiene items
- xlarge sweatshirts and coats
- 3xl sweatshirt.
They will also be accepting items for the others involved. Those items include:
- Women’s size Small and Medium shirts
- Women’s Pants size 2, 4 or large
- Men’s Medium sized shirts
- Men’s Medium sized pants or 3030
- Men’s size 10 shoes
- Women’s size 8.5 and size 10 shoes
