ROTTERDAM, NY (WRGB)- A Sunday evening fire on Hamburg Street in Rotterdam left several families without homes and sent a 23-year-old woman to the Westchester burn center for treatment.
Ramona Hicks said her daughter, Ajunae Hicks, and Ajunae’s fiancee lived on the top floor of the building, where several units were affected by the fire. Ajunae Hicks works as a certified nursing assistant at Kingsway Nursing Home in Schenectady.
Ramona said she got a call from Ajunae’s friend that the house was on fire and rushed over from about seven minutes away. She said she could see flames coming off the top of the house from a distance…
