Four major infrastructure projects are underway on the New York State Thruway to improve pavement and enhance safety features on heavily traveled sections of I-90 and I-87 in the Capital Region, Central New York, and the Finger Lakes Region.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the $78 million investment, which includes repairs on roadways used by thousands of motorists daily. The work covers more than 183 total lane miles and is expected to be completed between 2026 and 2027.
“The Thruway system is a vital gateway for commuters, tourism, and commercial traffic traveling through New York State and beyond,” Hochul said. “Making essential upgrades to our roads and bridges modernizes our transportation system, improves travel for motorists, and keeps New York’s economy thriving.”…
