ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – On May 2, a family-owned and operated Italian deli in Albany celebrated its 40th anniversary with a community event and said “Grazie” for decades of support. NEWS10’s Cassie Hudson takes us inside Ragonese Italian Imports in this week’s Off the Beaten Path.
Ragonese Italian Imports opened its doors in 1986. At 17 and 22, John and Vinny Ragonese were approached to buy the space, where a former corner store once stood.

Forty years later, the brothers can say they made the right decision. The neighborhood deli and Italian import store, serves as a popular neighborhood lunch spot.
On the menu, you’ll find recipes inspired by Nonna. Fan favorite sandwich orders include the homemade chicken salad, turkey, and Italian mix.

Throughout the years, all of John and Vinnie’s children have had a job or currently work at the deli. It’s not just their loved ones in the kitchen or behind the counter, that makes this a true family affair, they include their loyal customers in that statement as well…
