ALBANY — Mayor Dorcey Applyrs said last week she, former Mayor Kathy Sheehan and other city officials were aware Albany faced a multimillion-dollar budget deficit in late October 2025, before the Common Council voted on the 2026 budget.
Applyrs made the comments Wednesday while appearing on Zoom at the monthly meeting of the Council of Albany Neighborhood Associations. She described a meeting at City Hall with Sheehan and City Treasurer Darius Shahinfar, where the city’s financial position was explained to her.
