SCHENECTADY — A man who terrorized a taxi driver, holding a knife to her side and clutching a fist full of her hair while she followed his orders to drive him and his girlfriend to Cobleskill, was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Monday, according to the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office.
James Parker taunted and threatened the victim throughout the duration of the Nov. 13, 2024, drive from State Street to Cobleskill, telling her he had a gun on her, would slit her throat, and kill her.
“See, I let you live,” the 27-year-old told the victim before trying to destroy her cellphone when she dropped him and his girlfriend off in the Schoharie County community. The driver was able to use the phone to call authorities, and a State Police investigator took the case…
