Albany, N.Y. — A New York state panel recently found that the top federal prosecutor for much of Upstate New York committed professional misconduct.
The Attorney Grievance Committee for the state court system’s Third Judicial Department determined there was “a sufficient basis for a finding of professional misconduct” against John Sarcone III, the first assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of New York, records show.
The Albany-based committee then “took appropriate action,” according to a letter from its chair, Saratoga Springs lawyer Elena Jaffe Tastensen, to the group that filed the complaint…
