[1] North Domingo Baca Aquatic Center construction continues as price tag grows – Construction is underway near Paseo Del Norte and Wyoming for the North Domingo Baca Aquatic Center. The facility is slated to provide large pools for competition and recreation. Councilor Bassan said that right now, they’re focusing on completing the inside portion of the Aquatic Center, followed by the outdoor pools. Right now, the project’s total cost has skyrocketed to more than $70 million, and Councilor Brooke Bassan said that they still need an estimated $36 million to finish. Councilor Bassan can’t say when the center will be open, because it hinges on getting all the funding.
[2] Suspect identified in police shooting in southwest Albuquerque – Sunday night officers responded to a domestic violence call in southwest Albuquerque near Coors and Central. Police said when officers went to the home, 53-year-old Dwayne Wilson came out with a gun in his waistband. After several attempts to talk with him, police said he pulled the gun out and officers shot and injured him. Wilson faces multiple charges when released from the hospital.
[3] Scattered storms & cooler weather – Showers and storms will be ongoing early Tuesday in eastern New Mexico and southwest Colorado. Isolated to scattered storms will develop again Tuesday afternoon across the state.
