ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — A downtown art space for youth in Albuquerque is getting a much larger home. The new 516 Arts Space will be open for art exhibits, education, and other community events.
It’s part of a city-wide push to give teens a safe place to hang out – efforts that go back decades. “When you fast forward to the 90’s, when I was in high school, when all this happened – there were raves. That was the thing for teens and it was getting really dangerous. There was all sorts of violent parties in these rented out warehouse spaces all over the city.
