Friday morning forecast: Mostly dry and hot

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico stays mostly dry and hot, with a low chance for a few heavy afternoon storms near burn scar areas and a fire weather watch for Saturday.

Friday will start dry in Albuquerque at 67 degrees, with highs reaching 97 in Albuquerque, 98 in Farmington and near 100 in Truth or Consequences.

A few showers and storms could develop between 3 and 4 p.m. near the Sacramento Mountains and the central mountains, then move east. Storms will not be widespread, but some could bring brief heavy rain…
