PLACITAS, N.M. (KRQE) – This weekend, New Mexicans will get the chance to interact with elk and bison up close. The annual Placitas Ranch Fest is making a return for the second year in a row on Saturday. Keith Allen West is the founder of the event and says the idea to create the event came when he realized people didn’t know much about elk and bison.
“When I moved in to rent here, I would say I lived on the elk ranch, and people would just look at me. So then I realized, we needed people to know we had an elk ranch and a bison ranch, so that’s why we created Ranch Fest,” said Keith Allen West, Founder of Placitas Ranch Fest.
