ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – On Monday, a man learned how long he would remain behind bars after his confession to multiple murders. In April 2026, Kevin Geier confessed to killing Adrian Johnson and Samuel Almanza just days apart in 2018. At the time of his confession, Geier was already serving time for a third murder from that same year.

Families and friends of the two victims spoke at his sentencing hearing on Monday. “He was a human being, and he was trying to make a positive change in his life. People often say someone was trying to change, and those words can sound empty and insignificant. The difference is that we will never know what Adrian’s future could have been because the opportunity was taken from him,” said Carin Johnson, Adrian’s sister.
