SANTA FE ─ The Taxation and Revenue Department will hold live delinquent property tax auctions in Cibola, McKinley, Valencia and Bernalillo Counties in July, allowing in-person attendees to submit bids for the properties.
The auctions are intended to collect delinquent property taxes when taxes have been delinquent for at least three years. The state notifies delinquent taxpayers about the taxes due and planned sales of property. If the state is unable to collect the delinquent taxes, the subject properties are auctioned for sale.
Auctions have been scheduled in the following counties:
- Cibola County, 10 a.m., July 7, 700 E Roosevelt Ave., Grant, N.M. 87020
- McKinley County, 10 a.m., July 8, McKinley County Courthouse Extension, 2nd Floor West Conference Room, 207 W. Hill Ave, Gallup, N.M. 87301
- Valencia County, 10 a.m., July 14, 444 Luna Ave., Los Lunas, N.M. 87031
- Bernalillo County, 10am, July 30, 415 Silver Ave. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102
Successful bidders are required to make payment in full prior to the conclusion of the auction by money order, certified check, cashier’s check or a personal or business check if accompanied by a bank letter of credit that guarantees payment in at least the amount bid.
