NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Two Albuquerque elected officials are sounding the alarm after discovering an imposter used their identities to back a controversial data center project in southern New Mexico.

Project Jupiter is a massive data center up for consideration in Doña Ana County, but it has stirred pushback from residents over environmental concerns. Now, some officials say someone posed as them in written comments to voice support for the project, and as it turns out, they’re not the only ones. “I think it is extremely concerning,” said Representative Cristina Parajón (D-Albuquerque).
Rep. Parajón said she was shocked when she found out that someone was impersonating her.
