Social Security expands disability fast-track list, adds 14 conditions

(NewsNation) — The Social Security Administration announced Tuesday that it has added 14 conditions to its Compassionate Allowances list, an initiative that fast-tracks disability benefit claims for people with serious medical conditions.

Most of the new additions are rare genetic disorders, including Aicardi syndrome, Bohring-Opitz syndrome, and CASK-related gene disorders.

The updated list also includes four cancers: hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma, primary cardiac sarcoma, primary intracranial malignant melanoma, and uveal melanoma with metastases…
