State Police Seize Suspected Fentanyl and Loaded Handgun in Albuquerque Investigation

ALBUQUERQUE — New Mexico State Police say agents seized suspected fentanyl pills, fentanyl powder and a loaded handgun after a wanted fugitive was taken into custody Aug. 10 at a hotel in southeast Albuquerque.

According to New Mexico State Police, agents with the New Mexico Corrections Department’s Probation and Parole Security Threat Intelligence Unit located Sean Viviani, who was wanted for absconding from supervision. Agents reported seeing him enter a vehicle and followed it to the Comfort Suites on Woodward Drive SE, where he was taken into custody.

During the investigation, agents said they saw a firearm and suspected fentanyl inside a backpack in the vehicle. The New Mexico State Police Auto Theft Unit was contacted, secured the vehicle and obtained a search warrant…
