Armed man accused of harassing neighbors in Albuquerque’s Westside to stay in custody

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Armed with a rifle, he’s accused of standing outside an Albuquerque Police Department officer’s family home and threatening to “take them out.” On Monday, that suspect, identified as Kenneth Bair, learned he will stay behind bars.

The APD officer and his wife, who also works in law enforcement, asked the judge to keep Kenneth Bair behind bars Monday and said their lives have been flipped upside down since Bair showed up outside their west side home on August 10. “Whatever issue Mr. Bair has with law enforcement, my family should never become the target of it simply because of the profession I chose,” said the APD officer in court Monday.

Kenneth Bair was arrested last week after being seen walking around a Ventana Ranch neighborhood armed with a rifle on his chest and a holstered handgun. “If Bair’s released, much less allowed to return to the residence only one house away, I don’t know how I’m supposed to tell my children that it’s safe to go outside again,” said the APD officer’s wife…
