Drier day today before more moisture returns

Drier air is moving into New Mexico today, bringing fewer thunderstorms and warmer temperatures. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are still expected this afternoon, mainly around the southern mountains and near the central mountain chain. Many of these showers may only produce sprinkles and gusty winds.

Monsoon moisture will start to increase once again Thursday, especially across southwest New Mexico, before spreading into more of western and central New Mexico Friday and Saturday.
