RIO RANCHO — It’s been a bear of a summer in Rio Rancho.
The Rio Rancho Police Department reports that the City of Vision has had 10 bear sightings this year as of Sept. 2. This is a drastic increase in sightings from last year, which had three total sightings, and the year before with zero.
“The Rio Rancho Police Department would like to remind our citizens that bears are wild animals and can be dangerous,” RRPD stated. “If you see a bear, do not approach it and call 911 if it poses an immediate risk to your safety or the safety of others.”…
