ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Pluribus won six Emmy Awards bringing a high-profile boost to New Mexico’s TV and film industry.Before the Emmys, Pluribus had 18 nominations and had already won four awards. The Apple TV show was filmed in Albuquerque on a custom-built set and reached audiences across the country.
The show’s first season employed more than 1,400 New Mexicans, including more than 500 crew members, 100 principal actors and 800 background actors.“Many of these people who picked up the Emmys are New Mexicans, so we have some New Mexico made you know New Mexicans that won Emmy awards” said Adrian Gomez, Program Outreach Coordinator for the New Mexico Film Office.Rhea Seehorn won outstanding lead actress as Pluribus took center stage early in the Emmys broadcast.“Thank you, Vince Gilligan, for not only giving me the role of a lifetime but for creating sets where we all get to collaborate and made to feel safe to take risks where we get better as artists.” said Seehorn.Pluribus marks a trilogy of work shot in New Mexico by creator Vince Gilligan.
