Albuquerque, New Mexico – Temperatures are set to surge across New Mexico by Friday afternoon, with highs climbing 10 to 20 degrees above normal and increasing fire weather concerns across central and southern areas.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, there is an 80 to 90 percent probability of above-normal temperatures statewide through early next week. The strongest heat signal centers on Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Roswell, and surrounding areas, where dry air and gusty winds may elevate wildfire risk.
